Naming Morphs for TA Facial Animation

TA Facial Animation parses (reads-through) the names you have assigned to your Morphs and uses this information to make set-up of TAFA almost completely automatic!

prefix.MorphName.suffix

A Morph's Prefix tells TAFA how to Group the Morph. For example, Morphs with the Prefix, Brow. would all be collected together under the Brow Grouping of the Morph File.

TAFA knows that a Morph is phonetic, (intended for use in creating Dialogue,) when it is Prefixed with: Dial.

When a Morph has a Suffix, TAFA creates an Auto-Palette containing that Morph and other Suffixed morphs with identical Prefixes and Morph Names.

A Morph's Suffix tells TAFA where on its Facial Palette it is intended go.

    • Morphs ending in .U and .D are Split into left and right component Morphs, and placed on the up and down pairs of their Facial Palette, respectively.
    • Morphs ending in .UL, .UR, .DR, .DL are not be Split by TAFA, and are placed in the upper-left, upper-right, down-right, and down-left corners of their Facial Palette, respectively.
    • Morphs ending in .L and .R are also not Split, and are placed in the left and right pairs of their Facial Palettes, respectively.

  • NOTE: My preference is for modeling Characters facing the +Z axis. If your preference is for modeling Characters facing -Z, you can have TAFA flip what it thinks of as front and back under View | Flip Front/Back.

  • NOTE: You can have TAFA reverse what it thinks of as left and right when creating its Auto-Palettes under Options | Flip Left/Right When Making Automatic Palettes.
